Beveiligingsexperts van Microsoft hebben een virus gevonden dat het specifiek heeft gemunt op Facebook-profielen. De malware doet zich voor als een Facebook-gebruiker.
Het virus kan onder andere pagina’s leuk te vinden, statusupdates plaatsen en delen, gebruikers uitnodigen voor groepen en zelfs chatten met Facebook-gebruikers.
Alle berichten zijn in het Portugees geschreven en lijken dan ook gericht op Braziliaanse gebruikers, maar Microsoft waarschuwt dat het virus zich gemakkelijk kan uitbreiden naar andere landen.
De malware heeft het vooral gericht op de Chrome en Firefox webbrowsers.Microsoft stelt voor om beveilingssoftware up to date te houden, zodat het Trojaanse paard geen accounts kan infecteren. Facebook heeft zelf nog geen reactie gegeven.
